Region Spatial Strategy

The East of England Plan sets out the regional spatial strategy for planning and development in the East of England to the year 2021. It covers economic development, housing, the environment, transport, waste management, culture, sport and recreation, mineral extraction and more: View Deposit Draft East of England Plan

The Plan's Examination in Public began on 1st November 2005 and ran until early March 2006. Consultation on proposed modifications to the Plan ran until the end of March 2007. The Region is affected by three of the government's growth areas identified in the "Sustainable Communities; Building for the Future" document and HBF is involved in working groups in both the London-Stansted-Cambridge-Peterborough and Milton Keynes/South Midlands growth areas, and has a number of representatives on various bodies involved with the regeneration of Thames Gateway.
