The pandemic has changed the way we work and the way we can offer work experience to young and early talent. Our virtual career insight and work experience resources aim to address the continued demand for high quality home building careers advice, taster sessions and work experience.

These resources have been developed so that you can tailor them to suit your business strategy and recruitment scope and processes. They are designed to be adapted for delivery to a variety of audiences, including school and college leavers, women’s groups, ex-forces and the unemployed.

Virtual - Career Insight and Taster Toolkit

This interactive workshop is aimed at school leavers who are interested in considering a career pathway in the Construction and Home Building Industry. It has been designed to be delivered in one day to up to 20 students with one facilitator leading the session, held over an online video platform such as Microsoft Teams. This resource comprises of a facilitators toolkit that will prepare you to set up and run the workshop. It also includes guidance notes, step by step instructions, slides, hints and tips for successful delivery, activities and templates. It is advisable to read the facilitator guidance notes before beginning and to run through the slides and activities before deciding how it will work for you and your target group.

Virtual Work Experience Framework guide for employers

This is a model framework on which to develop a work experience opportunity that can run from 3 to 5 days. It will prepare you to host, introduce, deliver and evaluate a work experience opportunity with a timetable, content examples and useful hints and tips.
