"The south-west appears to have been ignored by the government in its recent sustainable communities document, which concentrates on the growth areas of the south-east and the market renewal areas in the north. However, the issue of housing affordability is becoming a key priority for the HBF in the region, with a number of authorities seeking higher proportions of affordable housing on sites of lower thresholds. The HBF is working with the regional housing forum to seek practical policies for addressing this issue."
