Planning for the future
15th September, 10.30-12.30
The government’s proposed major reforms to the planning system have been billed as the “biggest changes to the planning system since the second world war”. So what does the new planning system look like? And, with the new normal seemingly meaning new mantras, what does “building back better” really mean? Is it yet another ride around the design debate or can we make a real and lasting difference to design quality through design codes?
This year’s HBF Planning Conference – to be held as an online event on the morning of Tuesday September 15th - will explore and analyse these issues with a start line of speakers and experts.
Members of the MHCLG Planning team will be speaking at the event and will also be participating in an online Q & A session. Our expert speakers also include Graham Stallwood updating us on the Planning Inspectorate’s move towards digital planning and appeals, Peter Goatley QC at No.5 Chambers offering a legal update, David Birkbeck from Design for Homes discussing Building for a Healthy Life and Sarah Wardle at BECG offering her advice on the challenges of digital consultations.
In this difficult time HBF is more determined than ever to provide the industry with the key information it needs to run successful housebuilding businesses. So this year this online conference will be free to attend for HBF members and priced at just £60 plus VAT for non-members.
