Neil Jefferson is Chief Executive of the Home Builders Federation (HBF), having joined the organisation as Managing Director in January 2020 before being appointed Chief Executive. He represents the home building industry on the Board of the Construction Leadership Council and is also a Board Member of the Future Homes Hub, where he was a founding director in 2021.
Before joining HBF, Neil was Chief Operating Officer at NHBC, the UK's leading provider of new home warranties and insurance. Between 2008 and 2016, he was seconded as Chief Executive of the Zero Carbon Hub, leading collaboration between government and industry to deliver the UK's ambition for zero carbon homes. He also served as Managing Director of the National Centre for Excellence in Housing, a joint venture between NHBC and the Building Research Establishment (BRE).
A Chartered Builder, Neil has more than 30 years' experience in the housing sector with expertise spanning house building, technical standards, building regulation, sustainability and industry leadership.
