HBF Response to the Interim Report on the Pitt Review

28 Mar, 2008

The Pitt Review into the summer flooding in 2007 will be published later in the spring but the Interim Recommendations are on the Cabinet office website (http://www.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/thepittreview/interim_report.aspx)

HBF has sent in comments – several of the recommendations support ideas that HBF has been arguing for years so would be beneficial to the industry. However we have sought clarification of the extent to which developers might be expected to provide flood resilience/resistance and have pointed out that the “right to connect” to surface water sewers is already restricted by PPS25 so a proposal to change the legislation is unwarranted.
