Cancelled: Policy Conference 2020

31 March, 2020 Add to calendar

Coronavirus Update:

In light of the uncertainty faced around coronavirus following recent government announcements, we have decided to cancel the HBF Policy Conference which was scheduled to take place on 31st March, 2020.

Naturally we are very sorry to have taken this decision, but it is clearly the right thing to do given the present circumstances

If you have booked to attend this event then please check your inbox, including junk filters for information about your refund.

If you have any queries then please contact events@house-builder.co.uk

This year’s HBF Policy Conference comes at a time when the range and variety of the challenges facing the industry is at an all time high. Never before have housebuilders had to address so many agendas, initiatives, regulations and pressures. From the environment and climate change to the new homes ombudsman and the post Grenfell landscape, the challenges are legion.

This conference will seek to make sense of all this and will include an expert panel, chaired by HBF managing director Neil Jefferson, on The Challenges for the Housebuilding Industry, bringing all the issues together and seeking to paint a clear picture of the route ahead.

In addition to this panel there will be detailed discussion and expert presentations on many of these specific issues.

HBF executive chairman Stewart Baseley will look at the big picture, while Mark Aedy, managing director of investment bank Moelis and Company, will give the City view in the second annual John Stewart Memorial Lecture in memory of HBF’s former and long serving director of economic affairs.

Lucian Cook, director of residential research at Savills, will join forces with associate director Emily Williams to look at the market ahead, while Richard Donnell, research and insight director at Zoopla, will focus on the industry post Help to Buy and the issue of housing affordability.

A session on skills and talent will include the views of Sarah Beale, ceo of CITB, while there will be a panel session on the environment and climate change.

All in all there is much to discuss and much to learn and the HBF Policy Conference will be essential for anyone involved in the UK housebuilding sector and interested in the drive to increase UK housebuilding supply.
