The Water Act 2003 makes amendments to the Water Industry Act 1991 and came into force on 28 May 2004.
There are essentially three areas of interest for housebuilders:
competition in laying and requisition
adoption of laterals
powers for OFWAT to determine disputes
OFWAT will be publishing guidance and Sewers for Adoption Edition 6 will include these amendments.
