As the voice of the home building industry, we represent our members’ interests and support home builders of all sizes, from national developers through to SMEs and small local companies, to create an environment that enables them to develop and deliver the new homes our country needs.
Here is an overview of how we have supported our members in 2025.
How we are representing our members
In the last year, we directly engaged more than 75 Parliamentarians, responded to more than 50 government consultations, submitted more than 120 local plan consultations, and attended 34 local plan examinations.
We published 28 reports in 2025, enabling us to focus attention on critical industry issues including how rising taxes and regulatory costs are impacting development viability, housing affordability and market constraints, the lack of Registered Providers in the market for Section 106 Affordable Housing, planning delays and issues such as wastewater capacity and biodiversity net gain.
HBF is the leading voice speaking on behalf industry and, crucially, we are getting cut through. With 43 mentions in Parliament and more than 3,000 mentions across in the media in the last 12 months, we are making sure our members’ perspectives are heard where it matters most.
