Skills Framework- Carpentry

Overview

Carpenters build and install the timber structural elements of a new home and the wooden interior fittings. They also install and remove temporary works used during the construction process.

A good working knowledge of wood including the various types and its uses is important. As well as understanding technical drawings and using a wide range of tools. Carpenters can work both indoors and outdoors from erecting giant support frames to installing floor boards.
