Personal Fall Protection Equipment Toolbox Talks

Continuing the success of the height safety toolbox talks created by the Access Industry Forum (AIF) and supported by the Home Builders Federation (HBF), a new series of toolbox talks about Personal Fall Protection Equipment (PFPE) has been released.

The Access Industry Forum (AIF), the Work at Height Safety Association (WAHSA) and HBF have collaborated to create this new guidance which will support those working at height. Each toolbox talk provides key information and a useful reference for employees working at height on how to inspect, examine and store personal fall protection equipment (PFPE) and how not to misuse personal fall protection equipment (PFPE). You can also access and download additional resources to your phone or other smart devices by clicking the QR codes on the guidance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Toolbox Talks are NOT intended to replace formal training but to supplement it.

Height Safety Podcasts

To celebrate World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2022, HBF in collaboration with the Access Industry Forum (AIF), have launched the first in a series of height safety podcasts.

The first episode, which can be found below, introduces the work done by HBF, AIF and our members in the Health & Safety Group, and why we have made the decision to start a series of podcasts. The episode looks at the background to the AIF and HBF partnership, explores the role that RIDDOR data plays in gaining valuable insight for improvement, and looks at how the jointly-released toolbox talks are playing their part in bringing height safety to the top of companies’ agendas.

The series of podcasts, which will be released every quarter, will delve deeper into the area of work at height and provide expert insight into a range of specific work at height topics.

The first episode is hosted by Sara Cartin, Operations Manager at HBF, and includes Nathan Preston, Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) at Gleeson Homes and HBF Health and Safety Committee RIDDOR subgroup chair, and Tony Seddon, Director at the AIF.
