HBF commissioned Professor Dave King from Anglia Polytechnic University to examine the links between household formation and demand for housing space. The report concluded that rather than needing more smaller homes, as many have assumed, future housing demand will be overwhelmingly for larger homes. In addition to Professor King’s report, HBF published a paper examining the implications of his findings for housing and planning policies.
