This document has been prepared to guide planners and other stakeholders in applying the Welsh Assembly Government’s planning policy to the new system of Local Development Plans (LDPs). It refers specically to Planning Policy Wales (PPW) the Assembly Government’s principal statement of national policy, adopted in March 2002.
Local Development Plans Wales (2005)
National planning policy guidance in relation to the preparation of LDPs is set out in Local Development Plans Wales (2005). Local Development Plans
Wales sets out the main principles and aims for the LDP system,
the requirements for LDP form and content and the process for producing
LDPs.
The Local Development Plan Manual
The LDP Manual provides more detailed practical and technical advice on aspects of LDP production, focusing particularly on areas where there are main differences with the old system and significant technical challenges.
