Member Briefing: New Homes Week to take place next week

Date: 13/05/16

New Homes Week to take place next week

Next week, from 16 – 22 May, HBF will be running a ‘New Homes Week’ campaign to promote new build homes.

The overall objective of the Week is to promote to a consumer audience the benefits of new homes with the aim of driving up consumer interest and ultimately sales.

Each day will have a different theme, those being:

  • Meet the neighbours Monday – opportunity for social events on site and to talk about creating new communities. Possibility to get the local schools also on site for a tour.
  • Tech Tuesday – Focus on the future proofing of new homes / new technology available.
  • Winning design Wednesday – Highlight the architecture / design of new homes.  What makes a winning design?
  • Thought for Thursday – experts in interior design / gardening on hand either on site or via a Twitter takeover to discuss top tips on how to prepare for moving into a new home…what to do with a blank canvas etc.
  • Finance Friday – Buying incentives, how to get on the property ladder.
  • Site visit Saturday & Sunday – Hard hat event, inviting prospective buyers to book in a time to be taken on a tour of the site to see the build quality and construction of new homes.

We have had a range of material developed specifically for social media channels – including a series of animations - that will be available for all to use on various platforms.

In addition to the social media work we have also be developing a consumer report based on the result of a YouGov survey that was commissioned for New Homes Week. The survey looked at consumer attitudes towards moving home and buying a new home.

The report will be launched on Monday.

All the materials/report etc can be downloaded from the HBF website.

New Homes Week will have the greatest impact if it is supported by members and their agencies on social media and through regional print media. To best facilitate this, HBF has;

  • Issued a schedule/strategy of what we’ll be doing and when.
  • Shared all New Homes Week branding and logos.
  • Circulated the 5 New Homes Week animations we have commissioned for use on social media/web sites etc.
