From 16 – 22 May this year, HBF will be running a ‘New Homes Week’ campaign to promote new build homes.
The overall objective of the Week is to promote to a consumer audience the benefits of new homes with the aim of driving up consumer interest and ultimately sales.
Messaging will mirror that in the ‘Why Buy New?’ fact sheets which include; new build homes are a blank canvas; the cost of upgrading an old home to the standard of a new build, energy efficiency/cost saving of buying new; there are ways to buy - Help to Buy / incentive schemes etc.
The campaign will be a much-streamlined version of previous New Homes Week campaigns and be focused primarily through social media.
Each day will have a different theme, those being:
Meet the neighbours Monday – opportunity for social events on site and to talk about creating new communities. Possibility to get the local schools also on site for a tour.
Tech Tuesday – Focus on the future proofing of new homes / new technology available.
Winning design Wednesday – Highlight the architecture / design of new homes. What makes a winning design?
Thought for Thursday – experts in interior design / gardening on hand either on site or via a Twitter takeover to discuss top tips on how to prepare for moving into a new home…what to do with a blank canvas etc.
Finance Friday – Buying incentives, how to get on the property ladder.
Site visit Saturday & Sunday – Hard hat event, inviting prospective buyers to book in a time to be taken on a tour of the site to see the build quality and construction of new homes.
We are currently in the process of having a range of material developed specifically for social media channels that will be available for all to use on various platforms.
In addition to the social media work we will also be developing a consumer report based on the result of a YouGov survey that was commissioned for New Homes Week. The survey looked at consumer attitudes towards moving home and buying a new home.
The report will be launched with a national press release from HBF on Monday 16 May. We will circulate the report to members well in advance of this, including with supporting quotes, who will be free to carry out their own activity with national, regional and local press, as appropriate.
The report is due to be available shortly.
Third party involvement
New Homes Week is also being supported by a number of third parties, from property search websites such as New-homes, Whathouse, Rightmove and Zoopla, to finance institutions like the Mortgage Advice Bureau.
