Member Briefing: CITB / HBF Non-Construction Training Fund

Date: 16/11/16

CITB / HBF Non-Construction Training Fund

This note is a further reminder for members that the special £1 million Non-Construction Training Fund agreed by CITB for HBF members remains open for claims.

The Fund provides enhanced levels of CITB Grant for training for sales and marketing, undergraduate and graduate training for non-construction disciplines and non-construction qualifications. Claims can be made for training undertaken between 1 September 2015 and 31 December this year. We very much want to encourage as many HBF members as possible to benefit from the Fund, so please do consider if there is eligible training you could claim for.

We would also encourage members to submit claims to the Fund on a timely basis as this will assist us in managing the funding available as smoothly as possible through the Fund's life. Relevant learning achievements such as non-construction qualifications and degrees are often completed at about this time of year and it would be particularly helpful for us to have early knowledge of the likely level of such claims under the Fund.

Otherwise, the limits we introduced of:

  • A cap of £100,000 on any one company’s claims under the Fund
  • Within this, a cap of £40,000 on claims for sales and marketing training remain in place.

Guidance on eligibility and claims is available on the HBF website here. For further information on the programme, or details of how to get involved with the initiative, please contact Paul Gaze - Special Projects Manager at CITB, on 07736
