HBF's experienced Senior Policy Team provides support and expert advice to members on all policy issues.
Policy Issues
Government Policy
Government policy and regulation affects the industry in most aspects of its activity. HBF works to influence Government thinking with the aim of improving the business climate for its members.
Planning Policy
HBF actively campaigns for a planning system that delivers the right homes, of the right types, in the right places. HBF has high level contact with both the Ministerial team and officials responsible for planning policy at a national, regional and local level, ensuring that the views of the industry are heard at the stage of policy formulation.
Technical Policy
The Technical Department at HBF makes representations, responds to consultations and keeps members informed of news or changes to Building Regulations, highways, sewers, utilities, waste management and health and safety.
Economic Policy
HBF champions the economic interests of the home builder, challenging policy and legislation which threatens to undermine the economy of the industry.
Skills Policy
The HBF Careers and Skills Committee promotes what the industry is doing to develop skills, and seeks to influence the development of new training and education provision for home building and take forward the industry's own skills initiatives.
