About Us

HBF is the principal trade association representing the interests of private home builders and housing associations in England and Wales. HBF members are responsible for around 80% of new homes built every year.

HBF works on members behalf to promote common interests, to represent those interests in discussions with Government and regulatory bodies and during formal consultation processes, and to facilitate networking and the exchange of information and ideas.

The work of HBF is undertaken in conjunction with committees of experts drawn from member companies, with secretariat provided by members of the Policy Team. The Policy Team is based in London and supported by regional policy and planning teams based in its principal regional offices in Wales, Leeds and Birmingham. Members have direct access to the Policy Team which broadly covers activity on Planning, Technical matters, Economic Affairs and External and Public Affairs.
