The inside of the pipe has a unique anti-microbial silver lining, which prevents microbe build up. The system provides the building with a constant source of fresh, filtered air, reducing the need for opening windows and air-conditioning.

Company: SolarUK

Product: LaZer2 Vacuum Tube Solar Hot Water System

Date: Spring 2007

Website: solaruk.net

Contact: Geoff Fox, Technical Director SolarUK and the Solar Trade Association

Quote: "The panel understood the issues surrounding onsite micro-generation and that our product gives them certainty of operation for at least 25 years, the warranty on the vacuum tubes, at ex UK factory prices and best output per unit cost.”

About the Product:

The LaZer2 was developed by Magpie Technologies, the parent company of SolarUK and the UK's leading solar thermal research & development company, for the UK climate. It is engineered for maximum annual thermal gain and is the most efficient Collector in Europe (please ask for the SPF test results for EN12975-1) with the longest warranty. The curved collecting surface of the vacuum tubes, presented horizontally, yields up to 12.5% more energy than measured by SPF for EN12975-1, which uses instantaneous irradiation with extrapolated annual results.

The System is suitable for new build and retrofit with certainty of operation and ease of installation. Systems can be supply only or supply and install.

A LaZer2 system recovers the embodied energy in the first year of operation. In practice the system, manufactured from glass, aluminium and copper, will have a service life well beyond the 25 year warranty.
