Sun Awareness in Home Building toolbox talk

Construction workers are almost twice as likely to develop skin cancer as those in other industries that also largely work outdoors.

Sun Awareness Week is a national awareness campaign created by the British Association of Dermatologists to raise awareness around sun protection and skin cancer.

This year Sun Awareness Week takes place from 6 to 12 May.

For Sun Awareness Week 2024, we have released a 'Sun Awareness in Home Building' toolbox talk to provide home builders with a resource to educate and advise their on-site workforce in the best ways to protect the skin from and detect skin cancer.

We encourage home builders to action their site managers and health and safety leads to deliver this toolbox talk on site to raise awareness of the increased risk of developing skin cancer that construction workers face.
